Bien qu&#8217;il soit assez m\u00e9connu, il fait partie du groupe des micro\u00e9l\u00e9ments, <strong>\u00e9l\u00e9ments essentiels \u00e0 la bonne croissance et au bon d\u00e9veloppement des plantes<\/strong>, comme le fer, le mangan\u00e8se, le zinc, le bore, le molybd\u00e8ne , le nickel et le chlore.<\/p>\n<p>Chez les plantes, <strong>le cuivre est tr\u00e8s important pour diff\u00e9rents syst\u00e8mes enzymatiques. Il active certaines enzymes impliqu\u00e9es dans la biochimie du processus de photosynth\u00e8se et la synth\u00e8se de la lignine<\/strong>. Il intensifie \u00e9galement la saveur et la couleur des l\u00e9gumes et des fleurs, tout en collaborant activement \u00e0 la formation de pollen viable, de graines et de r\u00e9sistance au stress. Par cons\u00e9quent, nous pouvons dire que la fonction principale du cuivre est de faire office de coenzyme dans syst\u00e8mes enzymatiques n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la croissance et au d\u00e9veloppement de diff\u00e9rentes cultures.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Le cuivre comme engrais<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Le cuivre, dans des conditions de sol normales<\/strong>, est absorb\u00e9 sous la forme ionique de Cu2+. Cette forme divalente forme facilement des ch\u00e9lates, et on peut la retrouver sous forme ch\u00e9lat\u00e9e. <strong>Le cuivre est absorb\u00e9 par les racines et les feuilles<\/strong>. C&#8217;est un nutriment \u00e0 faible mobilit\u00e9 dans la plante, sa teneur moyenne en son sein peut varier de 1 \u00e0 25\u00a0ppm (il faut tenir compte du fait que toutes les plantes n&#8217;ont pas le m\u00eame niveau de demande en cuivre). Le cuivre pr\u00e9sente des antagonismes avec le fer, le molybd\u00e8ne, le zinc et le phosphore. Ainsi des teneurs \u00e9lev\u00e9es de ces \u00e9l\u00e9ments dans le sol peuvent provoquer des carences dans l&#8217;absorption de cet \u00e9l\u00e9ment. En revanche, la pr\u00e9sence de soufre induit ou favorise l\u2019absorption du cuivre dans le sol.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Le cuivre sur le terrain<\/h3>\n<p>On trouve du cuivre dans la cro\u00fbte terrestre, \u00e0 une concentration moyenne comprise entre 55 et 70\u00a0ppm, <strong>mais sa pr\u00e9sence peut varier selon le type de roche.<\/strong> Par exemple, on peut la trouver \u00e0 une teneur comprise entre 10 et 100\u00a0ppm dans les roches ign\u00e9es, tandis que dans les roches s\u00e9dimentaires sa teneur est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement nettement inf\u00e9rieure, entre 4 et 45\u00a0ppm. <strong>En fonction des circonstances de chaque terrain, nous devrons apporter la quantit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire au moyen d&#8217;engrais contenant ce type d&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e9ment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Carences en cuivre<\/h3>\n<p>Les sympt\u00f4mes d\u2019une carence en cuivre dans une plante ou une culture varient consid\u00e9rablement selon l\u2019esp\u00e8ce agricole en question. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, <strong>les signes les plus caract\u00e9ristiques sont le fl\u00e9trissement et le dess\u00e8chement des feuilles les plus jeunes et les plus tendres (diminution de l&#8217;activit\u00e9 photosynth\u00e9tique avec une teneur en chlorophylle plus faible), qui acqui\u00e8rent progressivement une brillance bleu p\u00e2le en se courbant vers le bas (diminution de la consistance cellulaire et de la formation de lignine)<\/strong>. De plus, elle produit g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement une n\u00e9crose des branches les plus jeunes.<\/p>\n<p>Il convient de mentionner qu&#8217;en tant qu&#8217;oligo-\u00e9l\u00e9ment, la plante ne r\u00e9alise pas de grandes extractions de cuivre. Cependant, des carences de cet \u00e9l\u00e9ment peuvent survenir dans le sol pour diff\u00e9rentes raisons, comme par exemple le lessivage dans les sols tr\u00e8s sableux, l&#8217;exc\u00e8s de chaux qui emp\u00eache son assimilation ou l&#8217;antagonisme avec d&#8217;autres nutriments.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que ces sympt\u00f4mes peuvent \u00eatre caus\u00e9s par l\u2019absence d\u2019autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments, nous devons nous assurer que le cuivre est le micronutriment dont notre culture a besoin. <strong>Pour ce faire, nous devons recourir \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration d\u2019analyses effectu\u00e9es par des professionnels qui pourront en confirmer la d\u00e9ficience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Toxicit\u00e9<\/h3>\n<p>L\u2019exc\u00e8s comme le manque de cuivre sont pr\u00e9judiciables \u00e0 l\u2019optimisation de notre r\u00e9colte. <strong>Des quantit\u00e9s excessives d\u2019engrais peuvent affecter la croissance des racines, car elles peuvent br\u00fbler les pointes et provoquer une croissance lat\u00e9rale plus importante que la normale<\/strong>.
