{"id":12287,"date":"2022-03-29T16:00:09","date_gmt":"2022-03-29T14:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dfgrupo.com\/df-grupo-supply-chain\/"},"modified":"2022-03-29T16:00:09","modified_gmt":"2022-03-29T14:00:09","slug":"df-grupo-supply-chain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dfgrupo.com\/en\/df-grupo-supply-chain\/","title":{"rendered":"DF GRUPO SUPPLY CHAIN"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Everything needed to provide solutions right across the process<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In this article we will talk about the parties and process that make up the DF GRUPO supply chain.<br \/>\n         But let\u2019s start by <strong>defining the supply chain and objectives of any company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Activities, facilities and means<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A <strong>supply chain is a strategic and logistical function<\/strong> embracing the operations required for a <strong>good to reach the end customer in optimal conditions <\/strong>following its departure from the source logistics facility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The supply chain is defined as the set of activities, facilities and means of distribution<\/strong> needed to implement the process of selling a product, whatever its nature.<br \/>\n         This process encompasses activities such as the search for raw materials, processing, manufacture, transport and delivery to end consumer.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The objectives of any supply chain<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As mentioned above, <strong>the core objective<\/strong> of any supply chain, regardless of the nature of the company it is part of, <strong>is to meet end customer needs<\/strong>.<br \/>\n         This primary objective <strong>involves all these other objectives<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Optimisation of distribution times.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Responses to changes or contingencies in demand or supply.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Avoidance of unnecessary loss or shrinkage.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Proper handling of inventories and warehouses.\n        <\/li>\n<li>On-time goods and services delivery.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Establishment of appropriate communication and coordination channels.\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Examples and supply chain basics<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A standard and simplified supply chain example would be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raw materials (procurement, growing\u2026)\n        <\/li>\n<li>Production\n        <\/li>\n<li>Transport and logistics\n        <\/li>\n<li>Sale (wholesale or retail)\n        <\/li>\n<li>Storage\n        <\/li>\n<li>Agencies or branches\n        <\/li>\n<li>Billing\n        <\/li>\n<li>Distribution and delivery\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The example helps us conclude that a supply chain consists of <strong>three main elements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Supply:<\/strong> the activities required to obtain and deliver the raw materials for subsequent production.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Manufacturing: <\/strong>the activities required to turn the raw materials into a good or service.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Distribution: <\/strong>the area responsible for delivering the goods or services we have just created to the end consumer via a transport network, commercial premises, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Activities and types<br \/>\n         <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clearly, although the activities of a supply chain are conditioned by the function of the company it belongs to, <strong>certain activities are needed<\/strong> for a satisfactory outcome;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Planning.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Stock management.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Purchase order processing.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Transfers and dispatch.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Monitoring and control of contingencies.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Customer service.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Warranty management.\n        <\/li>\n<li>Payment processing.\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of types, we can find six different supply chains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Traditional:<\/strong>each part of the process acts autonomously and there is no excessive communication between them. This can lead to frequent development errors.\n        <\/li>\n<li><strong>Direct:<\/strong>only three parties are involved: the supplier, the company that sells the product and the customer.<br \/>\n         This short chain minimises breakdowns and streamlines speed and efficiency.\n        <\/li>\n<li><strong>Strategic:<\/strong> logistics are planned and distributed according to the location of each merchandise receiver.<br \/>\n         It may take longer, but it can save costs.\n        <\/li>\n<li><strong>Shared:<\/strong> the different parties involved in the manufacture agree to make the same supply.\n        <\/li>\n<li><strong>Synchronised:<\/strong>when working with large volumes you need a constant flow of information between parties to deliver on your objectives.\n        <\/li>\n<li><strong>Complex:<\/strong> characteristic of companies with different product lines and suppliers that need a complex chain to perform their activity (typical of large companies).\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>The DF GRUPO supply chain<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>DF GRUPO has transport and logistics centres related to the entire fertiliser industry supply chain<\/strong>.<br \/>\n         Our chain covers everything from imports and in-house production to activities such as storage, packaging, processing and marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The DF GRUPO production process is based on and conditioned by <strong>sales forecasts<\/strong> that must satisfy <strong>both purchases and in-house production. <\/strong>Our consolidated sales for 2018, 2019 and 2020 were as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>2018: 1,373,000 tonnes (total sales)<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>970,000 tonnes consolidated sales\n        <\/li>\n<li>403,000 tonnes inter-company sales\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2019: 1,472,000 tonnes (total sales)<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,030,000 tonnes consolidated sales\n        <\/li>\n<li>442,000 tonnes inter-company sales\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2020: 1,798,000 tonnes (total sales)<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,197,000 tonnes consolidated sales\n        <\/li>\n<li>601,000 tonnes inter-company sales\n        <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>National and international presence<br \/>\n        <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>DF GRUPO operates out of <strong>Spain, Portugal, Algeria and
